Celebs Respond To Convicted Hollywood Hacker
Scarlett Johansson is one the celebs to speak out about the convicted Hollywood hacker, who leaked naked photos of her in 2011.The Avengers star made a videotaped statement that was played in court on Monday as Christopher Chaney, who hacked multiple celeb email accounts also including those of Christina Aguilera and Mila Kunis, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, the Los Angeles Times reports. Johansson said she was "truly humiliated and embarrassed" by the leaked naked photos of her and called Chaney's work "perverted and reprehensible." Likewise, Christina Aguilera addressed the court by saying, "That feeling of security can never be given back and there is no compensation that can restore the feeling one has from such a large invasion of privacy." Renee Olstead, star of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, was another celebrity among Chaney's victims and addressed the court, in person, sobbing and saying, "I just really hope this doesn't happen to someone else. You can lose everything because of the actions of a stranger." Chaney's most recent hearing revealed that he had hacked into more than 50 celebrity email accounts, including those of Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Ali Larter and Busy Philipps, as well as two non-famous victims. Along with jail-time, he was ordered to pay $66,179 in restitution. The 36-year-old hacker was arrested in October and has been in custody since March when he pleaded guilty to nine felony counts, including unauthorized computer access and wiretapping as part of a plea agreement.

"Gangam Style" Singer's Controversial Anti-American Protest Song
Although the "Gangnam Style" singer issued a swift apology time last week after the controversial lyrics of a protest song the South Korean rapper released nearly a decade ago came to light, the video of him performing another controversial song has now surfaced. The newly leaked video footage of his music video is from a 2002 performance and was reportedly given by PSY ("Gangam Style" rapper) as a response to two South Korean schoolgirls being killed in an accident involving U.S. millitary. It's unclear if this song is different from the headline-grabbing tune whose lyrics called to "kill those *#$%*#% Yankees," as he reportedly made that performance in 2004—though his damage control apology issued Friday presumably covered all manner of past indiscretions. In the 10-year-old performance that has now surfaced, PSY is seen in full gold face, lifting a replica U.S. tank over his head and smashing it down onstage, repeatedly attacking and dismantling it while encouraging cheers come from the crowd.Despite the growing controversy, PSY still performed as planned at the Christmas in Washington concert over the weekend, performing for President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama in the concert hosted by Conan O'Brien. It airs on TNT Dec. 21.

Star Trek Movie Sequal Poster Gives Hints
The movies poster (pictured to the left) hints to a major destruction throughout a city, with the new villian, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, shown standing on the ruins. However, the director, cast, and crew of the movies remain silent on what is to come and happen in the upcoming movie. "I've seen enough to know that I'm really excited about it and J.J.'s not fooling around," Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, said. He added, "I think it's going to be an exciting journey again." Even though rumors swirled around that Quinto was calling it quits after Into Darkness (the name of the Star Trek sequal) because of some comments he made to Entertainment Weekly, he assured all that he's not going anywhere. "Of course I wouldn't leave," he said. "I've had an incredible experience working with J.J. [J.J. Abrahms, the director] and that ensemble of wonderful actors, who are now wonderful friends. I would never willingly walk away from that." When asked how many Star Trek movies he was obligated to be a part of, he answered, "Just one more, just one more." Well, this movie seems very interesting, and because the first movie was so good I expect this one to be the same, if not better.Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Maybe A Rush Hour 4?
Even though Jackie Chan has announced that he's retiring from action movies, his Rush Hour costar Chris Tucker is pretty confident that they'll make a fourth installment of their hit comedy franchise."It's going to be a lot of fun," Tucker said the night at the Silver Linings Playbook screening in L.A. "I hope it happens. We need to do one more."The first Rush Hour hit theaters in 1998 followed by a second in 2001 and the last one in 2007. Brett Ratner directed all three."I just want us to be free and do our thing," Tucker said. "I love working with Jackie, being around Jackie. Stuff just happens when we're together."Chan said in May that after 100 films, Chinese Zodiac would be his last because he was getting too old for the action stunts and wasn't happy how violent movies have become.

Breaking Dawn Part 2- The Reviews Are In!
Before any movie is release to the public, movie critics get to see the movie and review for the public. The final installment of the Twilight Saga series seems to be quite a hit with the critics:
The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy said "The final installment of the immortal Bella/Edward romance will give its breathlessly awaiting international audience just what it wants."
Baz Bamigboye from the Daily Mail wrote, "I can't deny that I didn't care very much for the four other movies. For the most part they were poorly made and badly acted. Also, all that girl falls in love with a soppy vampire then a second suitor turns up who turns into a werewolf got on my nerves. But somehow the final film has stuff to say about love, friendship and loyalty that works."
With Bella reborn as a bloodthirsty, butt-kicking vampire mama, this . . . clears a low bar to stand easily as the franchise's most eventful and exciting entry. Admittedly, much of the credit should go to a jaw-dropping extended climax that will give fans something to chew on . . . -- not that a movie this commercially invincible requires too many talking points," Variety's Justin Chang said, and also added, that, "it'll be interesting to monitor reactions beyond author Stephenie Meyer's distaff fanbase, this being perhaps the first Twilight picture that some men in the audience might find themselves actually enjoying."
There were many other positive response to the movie by other critics as well. Most of them had mentioned that they really did not like the first other movies but very much enjoyed the last one.
If these reviews got to you, you should go watch the movie!

Marlee Matlin of ABC Family's Switched at Birth Slams SNL Parody
Marlee Matlin of the hit ABC Family show Switched at Birth recently slammed the comedy skit show SNL (Saturday Night Live) for their "dumb" spoof of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's sign language interpreter, Lydia Callis, and her extremely animated signing during the former's Hurricane Sandy press conferences. She tweeted "Millions of deaf people use sign. Why poke fun/fake it? Poke fun at ME but not the language. Would they do that to Spanish or Chinese? FAIL." Well, being Hispanic myself, I've seem my share of people making fun of my language, and I don't really care about because it doesn't mean anything; it's just a joke. But Matlin, who's deaf and is an outspoken member of the National Association of the Deaf, was unhappy about it and explained why."I'm referring to sign language parodies. Sign is not mime; it is a legit language. That's why I developed an App #MarleeSigns to teach it," she wrote in a follow-up post. "As I've said, I don't mind fun poked at me, as I poke back. But at the language that millions use? It feels childish and insulting." Again she added, "Here's my point. Deaf people HAVE a sense of humor. Ever see me on Family Guy or Seinfeld? But faking signs that we use isn't the same. Imagine if a show started making fun of Spanish (using fake Spanish) or Japanese. Do you think they'd actually get away with it? Uh, no." Well, Matlin, they do all the time! They always get away with it because its not supposed to be discrimatory, just funny!Tuesday, October 30, 2012
Late Night Shows in NYC Tape Without Live Audiences Due To Hurricane Sandy
Due to Hurricane Sandy, late night shows like "David Lettermen" and "Jimmy Fallon" have to tape their shows without audiences. New Yorkers were told to either evacuate the area or stay indoors, so no one was going to make the trek to the studios to watch the tapings. On "David Lettermen" guest Denzel Washington showed up in a yellow rain jackets, as if he'd actually be walking through the streets of New York just to be there. "Only for you, Dave," he said. "I swam." Asked if he had ever been in a hurricane before, Washington cracked, "Once, with Noah." Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon decided to open his show by filming outside 30 Rock himself. Jimmy's opening line was "I'm hoping, if you're watching, you are at home, you're safe, you're warm...But we're here,". Guest Seth Meyers, Padma Lakshmi, Robert Zemeckis and the band Imagine Dragons were all at the filming (indoors) too. Jimmy Fallon joked "Theater owners had to cancel all Broadway shows today," he said. "Many performers were having trouble making it into the city. You could tell by that one show, Blue Man Guy."

Ann Coulter's Tweet Gets Bad Reviews
After Monday night's Presidential Debate, Ann Coulter tweeted this statement: "I highly approve of Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard." This statment recieved many negative comments from other well-known people. "@AnnCoulter You disgust me," tweeted Sophia Bush. "That man is the president of this country. (& I'm sure all of the disabled children in America appreciate you.)" Comedian Patton Oswalt also responded, posting, "Ann Coulter died of prostate cancer in 2002. Her Twitter account's a sentient emu skeleton with a swatch of eyelid skin stretched over it." He later added: "If Ann Coulter's calling the President a 'retard' it means he won/is going to win. She's our un-pettable Punxsutawney Phil." Holly Robinson Peete also spoke up, writing: "As a mom of a son with autism the words Retard or retarded are like nails on a chalkboard. A lot of people say it benignly esp. kids...So when a grown woman deliberately uses it publicly over and over you just have to wonder if there is a chip missing ya know?" In addition to these, there were many other different comments. Clearly, Ann's tweet has drawn many different types of reviews, ranging from the political to the "moral".Tuesday, October 16, 2012
Lindsay Lohan's Mom In Major Debt
Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's mom, has been getting herself into a lot of problems recently. She has been in fights with her ex-husband, Lindsay's dad. Also, she has been in fights with Lindsay herself; they have made up off and on for a while. However, Dina's debt problem hasn't been resolved completely. Over the course of 11 years, Dina has accrued a very large debt. Just last week, Lindsay gave her mom $40,000 to help her alleviate her major debt. She has a mortgage loan in the amount of $200,000 from J.P. Morgan Chase for her Long Island home in Merrick, N.Y. She took out that loan in November 2005 that amounted up to $94,087.28. These are few of the many loans that she has taken out and now owes. Even though she is pretty much drowning in debt, she still hasn't filed for bankruptcy.

Demi Lovato Addresses Dating Rumors
There have been some rumors going around that Demi Lovate has been dating One Directions Niall Horan. There have been suspisions that her friendship to him has turned into something more; however, she has addressed these rumors in Teen Vouge saying "He's a really awesome, sweet guy, but he's not my boyfriend...I'm in a place right now where I really need to focus on myself." She goes on to say "Obviously, I'm still going to like people—or love them—but I need to not be in a relationship for a while because I need to be OK with being alone, first. I'm really happy right now. I never thought it was possible to be happy because of how depressed I was my entire life. But I feel so incredible. It's like living in a dream." By her depression, she was referring to her rehab days, where she had to deal with her own personal problems, while cutting some friends from her life that ". . .didn't have her best interest at heart". She mentions that most of her friends ". . .aren't even in the industry" and that some don't even know her songs.

Charge's Dropped on Lindsay Lohan's Assaulter
Early Saturday morning in NYC, Lindsay Lohan was supposedly assaulted in her hotel room by a 25-year old man. She said that he was taking secret photos of her, so she confronted him about it. This is where this get a little strange. Lindsay says that the man threw her on the bed and punched her in the face, so she ran away but later came back; in addition, her friend had pulled a fire alarm in an attempt to help the situation. The NYPD, however, dropped the two charges of misdemeanor assault and two counts of harassment charges originally filed against Christian LaBella, supposedly the one who assaulted her.
"It's both distressing and outrageous…and there should be a consequence for that," Lohan's rep Steve Honig told E! News.

Recent Amanda Bynes News . . .
Amanda Bynes (an actress who had her start on the Amanda Show in late 1990s to the early 2000s) has been in trouble with several police officers. Her license was suspended because she went 85 in a 65mph zone. Also, in April, she had a alleged DUI bust. Since March 7, she has been six times. She recieved two citations on Septemeber 16 for driving with a suspended license. She's due in court in October for her DUI and hit-and-run charges. Another "offence" of hers was when she was pulled over for using her cell phone will driving, even though it was 1 1/2 feet from her face. All the fines that she had accrued grew to a even larger amount due to her skipping the payments. Seems like she's having a bad year . . . .

Once Upon A Time- Returning Sept. 30
Okay, just to start off to say that I love this show and am very excited to see it starting again very soon!!! I've had favorite shows of mine canceled after one season, especially ones with cliff hangers, but I'm very happy that it came back! Anyways, the first season left off on a cliff hanger too (as all shows tend to do at those points). For those of you who don't know or haven't heard of the show, it's about a woman (named Emma) who goes to a town (called Storybrooke) because the son she gave up for adoption found her and lured her to the town. Emma was also "given up for adoption at birth" (or so she thought. . .). The mayor of the town (Regina) just doesn't get along with her. Why you might ask? Well, the show starts off and continually shows flashbacks of what life was like for everyone before the Curse, the curse made by Regina, who, in fact, is an evil queen. But she's not just any evil queen. She's the evil queen from Snow White, who is also a main character in the show; however, her name (most of the time) is Mary Margret. If you really have no idea about the show, you might be confused at this time (with the part-time names, curses, and all that jazz). So what happened (which is all shown and explained in the first two episodes) is that when Snow (for short) married Prince Charming (also called David) got married, the evil queen's hatred for Snow lead her to create a curse causing all the inhabitants of the land to live in a land where there are no happy endings, our world, and they would have new memories, differents names, and wouldn't be able to remember anything about the way it was before. Oh, and by the way, time doesn't move in this new land, until the "savior" comes back. The only way to break the curse is for the "savior" to break it. The "savior" is the child of Snow and Charming (for short). What is found out later in the show is that Emma is actually their child, who was magically transported to a new land where the evil queen could not harm her, and she would return to save everyone one day when she was an adult. There are many, many, many more details that I could go on and on about, but I'll end it all there. It's a very good show and if you don't watch it, you should start to!

Throwback- The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz was a very popular movie that came out in 1939 and stars Judy Garland as Dorothy, and also includes Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, and Frank Morgan, with Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charley Grapewin, and Clara Blandick as the rest of the main cast. It is classified as an American musical fantasy film. This movie was based on the children's book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which was written by L. Frank Baum in 1900. We all know what it's about: a girl and her dog get magically transported to a magical land (after a tornado picks up her house and takes her there) where she meets many strange, but interesting characters while she is trying to find out how to get back home. In the end, she realizes she always had the power to return by using her ruby slippers, so she does and is very happy to see her family in the end. Even though this movie is one of the best known movies of all time, when it initially released in theaters, it wasn't a major box office hit, only accruing $3 million on a $2 million budget; however, re-releases of this movie help make up for this and the movie later went on to win several awards. The Wizard of Oz was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, but it lost it to Gone with the Wind. Telecasts (showing it on televison) of The Wizard of Oz started in 1956, which re-introduced it to the general public, making it an annual tradition and became one of the most famous films ever made. The Library of Congress named the film the most-watched film in history. In addition, the film is often ranked in the Top 10 Best Movies of All Time. Many well-known quotes are taken from this movie and are used in pop culture.Monday, September 10, 2012

Throwback Thursday- Silent Films:The Beginning of Hollywood
As the title mentions, silent films really were the beginning of an era, the Hollywood movie era, that continues on even now. The "silent era" started around 1894, although before that time (around 1877 and 1880) Eadweard Muybridge had created a "primary proto-movie". In addition, a two second film (the first narrative film) was created by Louis Le Prince, which composed of a scene of people walking in Oakwood streets garden. The "film" was entitled Roundhay Garden Scene. It doesn't seem like much, but for the people of the past, it was something that they had never encountered before; it was new and interesting. The "silent era" ended in the late 1920s with the release of "talkies", films with sound and actual conversation.
